Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Tutbury Guides collects, why, and your rights. We handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Tutbury Guides ("we", "us") operates this website and is the data controller for the personal data described below. You can contact us about privacy matters at hello@tutburyparishcouncil.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Analytics data — when you visit, we may collect information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view and how you reached us. This is gathered through cookies and similar technologies and is used in aggregate to understand and improve the site.
  • Contact data — if you email us, we collect your email address, your name (if you give it) and the content of your message so we can respond and keep a record of the correspondence.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and this site is not intended for children.

Our lawful basis

Under Article 6 of the UK GDPR we rely on: your consent for non-essential cookies and analytics (which you can give or withdraw at any time); and our legitimate interests in responding to your enquiries, operating and securing the website, and understanding how it is used. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced these against your rights and freedoms.

Cookies and PECR

In line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we set strictly necessary cookies that are required for the site to function, and — only with your consent — analytics and preference cookies. You can manage or refuse cookies through your browser settings and through any cookie controls we provide. Refusing non-essential cookies will not stop you reading the site.

Third-party links

This site links to third-party websites, including gambling operators and support services. When you follow a link and interact with another site, that site's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the data practices of third parties, so please review their policies before providing any personal data.

How long we keep data

We keep contact correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and analytics data for no longer than necessary for the purposes described above, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to be informed and to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data; to object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@tutburyparishcouncil.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

Complaints to the ICO

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time; the version published here is the current one. 18+ · Please gamble responsibly.
